The Adventures of Willow Bear

We are very proud that Willow Bear has come to join our Pre-School, having been kindly donated by Build-A-Bear Maidstone.

Willow will spend a few days with each child and families are asked to write a short diary of activities that Willow has completed in the scrapbook provided.  This need not be anything out of the ordinary, but encourages the children to learn about looking after others and seeing what day-to-day life is like.

Willow is very excited to be on his travels with the children and will be writing a 'blog' on this web page from time to time.

Keep looking!

May 2010

This year is really flying by! Ed and I spent the week on a farm which I’d never done before - it was very interesting but very busy!  Thomas took me to Amelia’s birthday party (I do really love parties and seem to go to quite a few!) and went shopping with me - all that yummy fruit!  My favourite!  I earned my Hedgehog badge from the National Trust with William - you can see it in my diary!  I had a very special job at Matthew’s - helping to choose his new baby sister’s name.  I thought Willow was a good name but we chose Emma.  Bless her!

April 2010

Zack’s cat, Candy, is as fluffy as me and I loved cuddling up to her!  Zack’s Dad took Zack and I to the tip and we loved watching the big green grabber!  We wanted to drive it but it’s important we stayed safely inside the car!  Annabel and I loved going to the park and we had a picnic every day!  Yum!

March 2010

I loved meeting Sam’s friend Charlie and Sam drew a lovely picture in my diary - have a look if you have time!  I helped wash Ethan’s car and had Mother’s Day lunch with his family - hello to my new friends Nanny and Grandad!  My favourite part of staying with Ben was making cakes - we did get covered in flour but it was great fun!

February 2010

I forgot my toothbrush when I went to stay with Holly so we had to nip and buy me a new one!  We filled the bird-feeder with seed but I decided climbing the tree was more fun and wouldn’t get down!  It’s very tiring being a busy bear - do you find you get tired sometimes?

January 2010

Happy New Year!  Tailun drew a lovely picture of me and we played in the snow together.  Ellie took me to ballet with her and we went to a town called Deal for the weekend - the sea looked very cold!  Lewis took me to an 18th birthday party where we danced the night away and I even went to work with his Mum!  Sindre and Aneurin let me play with their train set with them and I loved reading with them but guess what?  They made me a little bag and put some toys in it just in case I get bored sometimes whilst you’re all at Pre-School!  Wow!

December 2009

I’m very excited about Christmas!  I do hope Santa Claus is going to come to visit me - I have been a very good bear all year!  Merry Christmas everyone!

November 2009

Lewis and I loved looking for leaves and picking up his sister from ‘big’ school.  He also gave me a poppy to wear for Remembrance Day.  I had a very healthy week with Lauren as she took me for a check up with the doctors and the dentist.  Do you brush your teeth twice a day?  Make sure you brush them well!  Amelia took me to a birthday party and to see Father Christmas at the garden centre.  I didn’t realise it was Christmas again so soon!  Have you got your decorations up yet?

October 2009

Kallithea took me for a lovely ride in the pushchair at the park - what fun!  Then Kieran and I had to go to the Post Office together before trying some West Indian food at his Grandma’s birthday party.  Have you ever tried any different food?  Why not try something today?  Daisy took me to Notcutts then we were going to go to Lakeside but the car broke down!  I was a bit scared but Daisy looked after me very well.  I’m getting to be a very well-travelled bear!

September 2009

I had a lovely restful holiday getting ready to see you all again - don’t you have a long summer break!  I was really pleased to get out and about again and loved playing on Ella’s trampoline and riding her scooter.  Natalya took me swimming and I met her little sister, Beatrice then I had to help Freya and her family build a new fish pond.  Those fish looked very happy when we’d finished!

July 2009
Nathan brought me to your Sports Day - didn't you all do well! He also bought me a lovely new stripey T-shirt which I love! Jack took me to the dentist which is very important, even for bears! I had a lovely afternoon with Sam at the swings but then it was the end of term and time to say goodbye to you all! I'll be seeing some of you again next term but I hope everyone will keep following my adventures, no matter where you are! Have a smashing holiday and see you in September!

June 2009
This month I've been to Dillon's house and he took me to Soccer Tots. We also went to vote when it was Polling Day. When we went to Pizza Hut I was a bit of a silly bear and drank too much Coke - must try to stop doing that! Caden and I baked cakes then Amber took me to see Mrs Cann at the Infant School where she read a lovely story. Charlotte took me to Bearsted fete but it was a bit noisy!

May 2009

Callum let me ride on his fire engine with him and took me to Amelia's birthday party.  I'm getting used to these parties but I still seem to manage to eat too much!  Do you find that when you go to parties?  Charlotte held a little Teddy Bears' Picnic for me so that I could meet Samuel's bear and I went on the trampoline in her garden.  But I did make sure all that party food had gone down properly first!  I met Grace's dog, Patch - I'm not sure about dogs but he was very friendly.  I watched her go swimming, too, but it all looked too wet for me!

April 2009

Leon took me to park and we ate cheese sandwiches together!  I helped him water his vegetable plants and he also took me to Nathan's birthday party, where we had rides on mini steam trains.  I thought they went really fast!  Jude took me with him to Broadstairs where we went bike riding - it seems that I've been travelling a lot this month!

March 2009

I went to a different pre-school recently.  It was called Poppies and I went with William.  There were lots of other children there and I was a bit scared!  Abbie took me to see the ducks which was great fun but I was worried I'd get wet!  I felt a bit ill after eating too many doughnuts with Matthew but soon felt better when James took me to the library!  So many books!  It's Easter soon - I'm looking forward to my very first chocolate egg!  Do you think you will get one?

February 2009

I've been a busy bear recently!  Daniel took me to Tyland Barn, I made a snowman with Katy and learned all about Liverpool Football Club with Dylan.  I wasn't sure about this football game but I know a bit more about it now.  I'm getting used to being on the move the whole time and it's lovely that you all have so many interesting things to share with me!

January 2009

Wow!  I haven't stopped since my Christmas break at Mrs Soutter's house!  I've been to 'Tumble Tots' with Katy and sat in one of her Daddy's removals lorries, but it was very high up and I was a bit scared!  I chose bananas at Morrisons for Jessica to munch on, then I went to Laura's house where I tried skiing!  It was a bit slippery so Laura held me most of the time!  It's been very cold this month and I'm looking forward to the weather warming up a bit for the spring.  Have you planted any bulbs in your garden?  Are any green shoots just poking through?  Keep your eyes open!

December 2008

This Christmas thing seems very exciting!  I saw some reindeer with Benjamin and helped decorate Claudia's Christmas Tree.  I watched your Nativity and learned all about the baby Jesus so I understand a lot more about it now.  I'd like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Peaceful New Year.  See you in 2009!

November 2008

Well, what a busy November!  I've had chocolate cake with Joshua, spent a weekend with Ruby and her family then been to Tesco with Bailey!  Everyone's noticed that what I really like best is getting lots of cuddles and seeing what you all do away from Pre-School.  I'm trying my hardest to stay nice and clean but it's difficult with everything I get up to...

October 2008

Hello there everyone!  I spent half term with Nicholas and swept up leaves, went to Madginford 'Big' School and dressed up as a ghost for Halloween!  I had a really good time and hope you did too!
